First, second, and third place winners will each be awarded either an educational or vocational scholarship.
While significant attention is often given to younger individuals, this scholarship is specifically designed for applicants aged 50 and older who are ready to pursue their dreams. Whether you aim to make a difference as a performer or educator, or seek additional training in the performing or fine arts, you are eligible to apply. The minimum award amount is $500, with the possibility of increasing up to 15% of the total funds raised.
Middle schools are often likened to the stereotypical middle child in a family of three: valued but frequently overlooked as they enter a challenging phase. In Richmond Public Schools, performing and fine arts programs are dedicated to fostering children’s development, yet they frequently lack the necessary resources. By partnering with the RPS Foundation, we ensure that scholarship funds are directed to areas where they are most needed. A quarter of the funds raised will be allocated to support these vital programs.
The life and legacy of this production not only herald the start of the holiday season but have become a cornerstone for fostering community, friendship, compassion, inspiration, and joy for numerous families and individuals. While we strive to enhance every detail, we face ongoing needs such as constructing new costumes and accessories each year, and upgrading our lighting to meet evolving requirements. However, the core of our mission lies in our scholarship awards. These awards provide crucial support for individuals to train during the summer and throughout the school year, offering financial assistance to those in need and enabling students in high school and middle school performing and fine arts programs to pursue their dreams. Up to 25% of donated funds are allocated to support these essential needs.
Up to 10% of our fundraising efforts will be allocated to supporting other performing and fine arts organizations. While we have one approved organization at present, we lack the staff and resources to extensively research community needs. Therefore, we encourage the public to suggest organizations that you believe we should consider for support. The level of financial assistance provided will be based on the total funds raised.
